Penrose Square
minimalist presents Penrose Square brooch for ‘minimalist classic’ collection.
The Penrose Square is a square impossible object, an optical illusion consisting of an object
which can be depicted in a perspective drawing, but cannot exist as a solid object, derived from The Penrose Triangle.
It was first created by the Swedish artist Oscar Reutersvärd in 1934. Independently from Reutersvärd,
the psychiatrist Lionel Penrose and his mathematician son Roger Penrose devised and popularized the triangle in the 1950s, describing it as “impossibility in its purest form”.
The brooch is made of yellow brass and coated with rose gold and 24K gold.
